There are some days at The Rectory Clinic when things are a little more serious than others… and then there are Krazy Races!
We swapped our dental scrubs for something slightly more ridiculous and got involved in the Krazy Races, a brilliant local event combining plenty of fun, creativity and, most importantly, fundraising for a great cause.
Let’s just say that designing, building and racing a homemade kart is not something that features heavily in most dentists’ job descriptions!
The day was full of laughter, competition and a fair amount of friendly rivalry. There was plenty of creativity on display, some very questionable engineering decisions and a lot of people determined to make it across the finish line.
But while the racing was all about having fun, the real reason for getting involved was to help raise money for charity.
We’re always keen to support the local community beyond the clinic, and events like Krazy Races are a brilliant way of bringing people together while raising money for something worthwhile.
So, did we win?
Well… that depends on who you ask … but we did take away the award for SECOND place !
Either way, we had a fantastic time, raised money for a great cause and proved that The Rectory Clinic team are definitely up for a challenge.
And who knows… maybe next year we’ll actually work on the aerodynamics.
