Spreading Smiles at Our Local Schools
We’ve had a fantastic time recently visiting local schools to talk all about keeping our teeth healthy ! Our dental team met with children aged 3 to 8 years old to share fun and educational presentations about looking after their smiles.
During our sessions, we talked about:
• The importance of brushing twice a day – and how to do it properly.
• How to choose tooth-friendly foods and drinks, and why too much sugar can harm our teeth.
• Visiting the dentist regularly to keep those bright smiles healthy and strong.
The children were brilliant, full of enthusiasm and curiosity! They asked thoughtful questions about what happens at the dentist, why teeth fall out, and even what the tooth fairy does with all those teeth!
To help them put their new knowledge into action, each child received a special gift bag containing:
A colourful toothbrush
A two-minute timer to make brushing fun and easy
A brushing chart to track their daily routine
A fidget spinner for a bit of extra fun!
We loved seeing how excited the children were to learn about healthy habits and to share their own brushing routines. It’s always inspiring to see young learners so engaged in looking after their health.
We saw over 600 children across 15 schools in West Berkshire. Prevention is better than cure, and only knowledge will help the future of oral health.
The Rectory Clinic offers patients complimentary check-ups for their children under the age of 8 to continuously encourage the importance of dental health.
A huge thank you to all the schools and teachers who welcomed us so warmly and to all the amazing children for their brilliant questions and big smiles!
